AMERICAN EMBASSY WARNING RE HURRICANE FELIX

I'm still a warden for the American Embassy in Guatamala City and in that capacity received this evening a warning regarding Hurricane Felix. Embassy concerns are primarily for safety of American citizens be it man or nature made.

The report delt with possible issues regarding closing airports and the like.  Therefore I'm inclluding below a web site which may be of interest for anyone contemplating a trip to Central America be it during or after hurricane season.

Americans traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department's web site at http://travel.state.gov where the current Worldwide Caution Public Announcement, Travel Warnings and Public Announcements can be found. Information on security can also be obtained by calling 1-888-407-4747 toll free in the United States, or, for callers outside the United States and Canada, a regular toll line at 1-202-501-4444.  The U.S. Embassy in Guatemala City can be reached at (502) 2326-4405.

Thats that for this.

                                  Take care,

                                        JB
